The Steering Wheel of Solid Rock is our student leadership team. We meet on the first Sunday of every month to plan our weekly activities. Steering Wheel creates, plans, and implements many of the Solid Rock events on a weekly basis. This group of student leaders is nominated by their peers and then selected by the Youth Director for each specific position.

Helps set Steering Wheel agenda, main contact person with Youth Director(s), the main contact person between Solid Rock and the congregation, attends church council meetings every third Sunday at 7pm, assists Youth Director in planning retreats, mission trips, youth gatherings, and other major group events.

Planning devotions and certain worship activities, Youth Sunday, Retreat Worship, leading opening and closing prayers, keep track of prayer concerns.

Keep financial status of Solid Rock, inform Steering Wheel and Solid Rock about the financial status of the group, create and plan fundraiser's throughout the year, work with Publicity to create posters and advertisements for upcoming fundraiser's.

Keep contact list current, main contact between 8th grade confirmation and Solid Rock. Assist Youth Director with the Welcome Retreat. First contact with new members in the congregation with high school students. Be aware of who is and is not at Solid Rock events and keep in contact with people who have not been coming for a couple of weeks.

Prepare youth monthly newsletter, send weekly e-mails to Solid Rock members, prepare other mass mailings, keep track of special things mentioned during circle time to put in the newsletter including birthday’s and special events, work with Fundraiser to create posters and advertisements for upcoming fundraiser's, provide information to web designer for web news letter and special events.

Assist in each position in implementing activities. Keep in contact with new freshmen and help to make them feel welcome and comfortable at Solid Rock. Encourage them to attend weekly events.
